Disability Income Benefits Commonwealth Emergency Physicians provides full-time employees working 20 or more hours per week, except any person working on a temporary or seasonal basis, with short- and long-term disability income benefits. At Commonwealth Emergency Physicians, we want to do everything we can to protect you and your family. That’s why Commonwealth Emergency Physicians pays for the full cost of short- and long-term disability insurance—meaning that you owe nothing out of pocket. This year Reliance Standard is again our disability income benefits provider. In the event that you become disabled from a non-work-related injury or sickness, disability income benefits will provide a partial replacement of lost income. Please note, though, that you are not eligible to receive short-term disability benefits if you are receiving workers’ compensation benefits. A Brief description of the key features of the RSL insurance plan is described below. Insurance is provided under group policy form LRS-6564.

The monthly benefit is an amount equal to 60% of covered earnings, up to a maximum benefit of $10,000 per month.
